2-tone interior?

Hey All,

New here but have owned several E38s over the years and just acquired a '01 in alpine white that has black and very light gray 2-tone interior with the grey being perforated leather. The option list shows it was built with standard schwartz. Any ideas??

Sounds like someone did some custom interior work. There was no 2 toned interior offered in the E38 unless it was an individual interior, which the option list would show.

I bet it looks good! Post up some pictures! Oh and welcome to the forum!

The closest thing to a BMW offering of a two-toned interiors for the e38 (in the US market) where the Highline Pkg and the full leather pkg...but they were only offered with a dark blue or dark green carpet and door panels with either Ecru or Pearl Beige (Oyster) leather surfaces. And I don't ever recall any of the leather options being perforated...it was either Montana leather or Nappa leather (non perforated) here in the US market.

I believe there was a long time member on BimBoard by the name of Snitch or Snitch 740i...he did his own custom two toned interior...which I believe was black & gray. Perhaps a google search of his moniker may turn up some pics. I'm not sure if he still has his e38 (he kept it pristine) or if he's still active on BimBoard...I can't recall seeing him post anything there recently.

there was never any perforated leather option. club nappa had different seam from montana and added center horizontal seams with different colors in the center but nothing like this

Ah...thanks for the update. I knew I hadn't seen posts from him for a while...I hope he's enjoying his e66.
