Callahan Brake Parts (Amazon). Anyone Tried?

    Hello Ladies and Gents,

My rotors are old and warped (yes I am sure) and I am going to get replacement rotors. I still drive this thing daily and I want to have something, like an OEM, that will last me a while and won't be too expensive.

Callahan Brake Parts pops up a lot when I search on Amazon. Has anyone tried any of the Callahan Brake Parts?! THANKS SO MUCH FOR READING!!!

    -PG

But why do they put a guarantee on the box?

Because they know all they sold ya was a guaranteed piece of shit. That's all it is, isn't it? Hey, if you want me to take a dump in a box and mark it guaranteed, I will. I got spare time. But for now, for your customer's sake, for your daughter's sake, ya might wanna think about buying a quality product from me.

FCP will sell you Zimmermans for just over $100 and if you ever wear them out send them back for another set for free. You can get a set of Meyle on ECS for less than $100, or on ebay for even less if you wait for one of the coupons.

Rotors just don't to me like a buy some no name brand thing when the popular BMW parts makers are already pretty cheap.

Hey, I'll tell you what. You can get a good look at a butcher's ass by sticking your head up there. But, wouldn't you rather to take his word for it?

So I see the Callahan kit is $167 with pads.

You can get Centric stuff for under $100 for just rotors...a name that albiet cheap is fine for DD use (I've used them on my BMWs and other cars).
Then you can get Power Stop Ceramic pads for $52.

All in all, you'd have a better set of better names for cheaper.

Anybody ever shop at a local auto parts store? It's kinda weird, because you have to actually talk to a real live person, who might actually be trying to support a family or something. Heck, maybe even in your neighborhood.

    Silly idea, I know....

Let's not get into politics, but here's why: $234 for the same thing. Not to mention, they don't have parts for a 20 year old M3 typically in stock, and if they do, they're not the cheap option.

Yep. I have tried. To be looked at like I’m speaking Russian when I ask for a certain part, get given something totally different, then get spoken to like I’m an idiot when I tell them that’s not what I’m looking for.
    I didn’t go back. Silly result....I know.

Certain things would be ok... but honestly I got Centric Premiums for so cheap at Rock auto and no local autopart sells PFC Z-rated pads... so I support Bimmerworld there. And next time I'll probably just get Brembo/Zimmerman from them too.

    I buy batteries local though.

I can guarantee you that your rotors are not warped from street driving, hell, they're not even warped if you took it on a track.

Your brakes vibrate/pulse because you likely overheated the pads and now have a buildup of fragments of pad material deposited on the face of your rotors. This buildup only gets bigger and bigger, resulting in the vibration worsening over time.

In order to avoid this happening again, I would suggest against the bargain/cheap brake pads you're interested in and get something that has a better heat range tolerance.
