Hey everyone, I've been lurking for a while as I've always wanted an E30 and wanted to get some opinions on one I found close by. I've already gone through the FAQ and read the buyers guides so I have a good understanding of what to look for when I go to look at it but can't get a good feel for what this one should be priced at. Just got a job where I'm working from home so not concerned about it needing to be bulletproof as a DD'er.
Currently listed at $6900 for a 1992 325ic. Think the price is a little high since it'll need re-upholstered and potentially a new dash, but understand that it has already had a lot of work done to keep it maintained.
Info from listing
5 speed manual with 103xxx miles on a working cluster
red with black leather interior
cold AC and an almost crack free dash
small cracks are in the tray/can barely be seen inside the car
top is in very good condition
tires are ok
OEM 14" basketweaves
clean title
misc dings / paint 7/ 10 but no rust
general condition is good but not a show car
needs nothing to be driven daily
recent maintenance with receipts since february includes
timing belt
clutch and master cylinder
power steering rack
flex disc
intake gaskets
distributor cap, wires , rotor button
valve cover gasket
oil level sensor
water pump
misc hoses
other goodies
new front spoiler
M tech steering wheel
rear head rests
euro bumper trim
OEM radio
Eibach lowering springs
ellipsoid projector headlights
euro front grills
I'm comfortable doing any of the work required on it outside of paint and rust but being in SC, I can't imagine it needing *too* much body work.

Looking forward to wrenching and meeting some E30 owners in Atlanta!
$7K is in the ballpark.. Here's one in Des Moines for 13K.. https://desmoines.craigslist.org/cto...797877022.html
Value has more to do with what you want - what you can afford and what is available. want loan values - Look at Haggerty, look at Kbb, look at NADA.. I will say - for the same amount of money you could drive an E46 - with more power, less hassle, (but less style IMO) - A $5K price is what I am seeing a lot of these middle of the road vehicles going for.
I will say - for a value ADD - The late 1991 and 1992 models have the sleeker front and rear bumpers. Those models don't pop up all the time. My daughter has the early 91 - with the chrome "diving board" bumpers and she is not a fan of those.. (just like the 13K model in the link above)
103,000 miles isnt bad (I DD one with 277K) - but most likely you'll drop a $1K just on suspension / hoses / maintenance etc to keep in her in good running order. Im also assuming they would negotiate.. Shoot for what you can afford - pick a number you are happy with and stick with - be prepared to walk away at whatever number you set..
Plus if you walk away - they might just call you a few days later..

to me, that's pretty high for one that needs the interior done. 5 would have to be really good and 3500 is a dependable car that needs some cosmetic stuff.
verts are the most common e30 available so to me, they should be the most inexpensive. I know I can check craigslist in the two larger towns around me and find 8 or 10 for less then 5k that I can drive the 3-4 hour trip home.
there used to be a super clean 324td in Atlanta. it was a white four door 5 speed diesel and being a 324td, all euro since it was imported.
No e30s again.
