Hey everybody, how are you today?
Thank you for having interest in my post! I hope we can find an answer for this matter and be something that other might use as well! I used the search tool, but couldnt find anything in this area.
So I swaped a M52TU into an older chassi (E12) and I'm trying to figure out if the headers water hose (the one in the back of the engine) is necessary, or I can just leave it pluged.
My car came without the heater radiator and the mechanic that swaped the engine just pluged the "exit hose", and now we are thinking about adapting some hoses to make it flow again - a friend told me that is absolutelly necessary to have it flowing.
I understand that this part of the system have a valve that opens when the heater is on, but all of the time the heater is off, the water isnt flowing at all - am I nuts?
So we came with a solution, but before starting to cut my original radiator hose and make some amendments, I though to consult with specialists in the matter
Here I have some pictures of what I mean:
This is the pluged hose and the new one that could go there:

Here we have the path that it would make to reach an T:

And here we have the T that we are thinking to put, that would conect the 3 parts, that one side goes into the radiador:

So, do you guys know if this is a good idea? We thought to leave it pugled - making it a better finish, of course - but we are afraid of fucking something up hahah
Thank you very much for the help!
Best regards,
Fernando
