The tool is just different than the ones in other kits it does set the trigger wheel in place but I think it may be a few mm off I just finished up for the day my results are timing is slightly off but I didn't readjust it just focused on the trigger wheel. I moved it counter clockwise about 4mm these are my readings now.
IMG_20190217_144706.jpg A bit of improvement went from - to + I am going to try again later today if I can. Looks like I'm a little bit off maybe clockwise 1-2mm.But with every adjustment the car is running stronger.
Good luck!
I think I'm making progress went from +8 to +5. Will do another slight adjustment tomorrow will post results
That's what I'm hoping my friend that's what I'm hoping. Just time stamping myself to see how fast I can get in and out. Just for sport. But in my repeated efforts I have made an interesting observation not only does the trigger wheel have to line up with the inspection port hole but when the Cam springs back the same hole in trigger wheel aligns with the Cam sensor. Will post results
I'm back out just under 2 hrs. Managed to get teetering between +4/+5 which still gives the code going back in. Will post update. I'm certain I'm close maybe 1\2-1 mm off. I'm becoming a valve cover pro lol. I kick myself every time I take them off. When I first bought it i paid to have the valve cover gaskets replaced twice.the first guy did a crappy job didn't realize it till me and the wifey were in L.A., 450 miles from home oil pouring out everywhere exhaust smoking like a broke stove thought I was on fire still drove all the way home. Took it back to him and of course he lied. Took it to my Indy and he did it properly. All in all $1200 for a $40-$50 job.So back to work. Will post results

But I'm still getting the error code. What else could it possible be?
Looking good! In my case I started using the car and the error disappeared after a while. Never came back.
Better late than never response. I don't like when a thread gets started lots of advice given but never any conclusion as if nobody ever says thanks guys my problem is solved. So I am officially closing my thread with problem solved. It was operator error the entire time. As many times that I timed and retimed I thought I was doing it wrong. Thought my trigger wheel was off a bit. Thought my vanos was bad. Frustrated to the point of parking it for months on end. Then finally one day about a month ago I decided to give it one more go so I go to my hood open it proceed with the dismantling of the front of the engine when I noticed a wire just didn't look like it fit where it was ...hummm..... but it fit the boot it was in, the water pump. I noticed a
Second wire that looked identical to the first one but smaller same boot connector, plugged in the vanos solenoid. Swapped the two wires code went away She is as good as new. So Thanks to all for your help. And hopefully this may help someone else out. Cheers
