This is for those that are looking to buy this spoiler but dont know what to expect. As many of you know most of the oem and aftermarket spoilers for the e36/7 look hideous. However the rear end of my car has been looking plain recently and so I searched and found this.
I thought it looked decent enough and it had a 30 day return policy if I didnt like it so I ordered and this is what I got.
Fitment was horrible, and decided not to give a shop the pain of making the thing sit nice, inside was hallow and kinda flimsy overall. Already returned it.
If anybody is selling or knows where to get a veilside rear lip, pm!

Not a very popular item on this forum. Too many purists, including myself. I planned on putting one on mine, but once I got the car, I thought it looked great without. Drilling holes in my trunk also influenced my decision to pass on the idea. If you can convince yourself of that and grow to appreciate the original beauty of the car, you may change your mind. But, do what works for you. That’s all that matters.
I like the shape but I still think it's too big. If it was about 50% of the size I'd be all over it.
Zed's dead baby. Zed's dead.
The catalog wing/spoiler is the only one I have ever liked. My car came with it and I would never remove it.

Was gonna say the only good spoiler of that type for these cars is the OE one
Rarer than hen's teeth they say. About as rare as human beak.

It's basically for cosmetics right? How about a wing, LOL.
I have to say the previous pics of the M models don't look to bad. The other part I wouldn't consider for my Z3 is a bra, looks like you have to remove it to lift up the hood. I did put a spoiler on my Porsche 914 with the toughest bond from Home Depot. I can't post pics yet.......not enough posts..........
Any idea where to get the same spoiler for a 2001 M Roadster?
The other Z3 OEM spoiler, it is not a wing.

Spoilers/lips/ Gurney flap are on a lot of cars to control the airflow in the back of the car to control the laminate flow of air to reduce drag. Without a spoiler, the flow of air becomes turbulent and a low-pressure zone is created, increasing drag and instability. Wings work by pushing the car down, they are normally are up high to get into the clean airflow.
Wikipedia: Early Audi TT models received press coverage following a series of high-speed accidents and the related fatalities which occurred at speeds in excess of 112 mph (180 km/h) during abrupt lane changes or sharp turns. Both the coupé and roadster variants were recalled in late 1999/early 2000, to improve predictability of the car's handling at very high speeds. Audi's Electronic Stability Programme (ESP) or Anti Slip Regulation (ASR) and rear spoiler were added.

Does the spoiler obscure the line of sight to the third (trunk top) stop light? How would it affect the safety inspection in your area?
1999 2.8L Z3 Roadster,
2000 3.0L Z3 Roadster,
There is only one thing more pleasurable than working on a Z3, that's driving it top down on a fine day.
No obstruction.
