    Faulty thermostat?

Hi Guys! I have BMW e46 318i with engine n42b20, with power 143 hp from 2004. I think, i have faulty thermostat. But the engine does not overheat. The temperature display shows the center = operating temperature. Heating works normally. The only problem is that the hose leading from the thermostat to the main cooler is cold, almost empty. The cooling circuit is vented = no air, only coolant.

Any thoughts? Ideas? Or should i replace the thermostat??

    Thank You, very much!!!

Those thermostats are electronically controlled. If the t-stat was bad, it would throw a code/light the SES. Nothing lasts forever however. It's cheap insurance to change out the thermostat when you do your next oil change.
