VF supercharged 95 e36 m3 running rich. HELP!

    Hi,
I have a 95 m3 with a VF supercharger kit. The car is running rich. It sits at 12.5 at idle and cruising. mid 10s at WOT. Im using a AEM X series wideband. It is throwing a 1221 code but there is no hesitation or idle issues, however the car feels slower. Im also going through gas like no tomorrow.

VERY occasionally, the car will snap out of it and return to "normal" AFR readings (idling in 14s mabe even a tad lean, 12.5 at WOT). It feels much faster when its like this.

So far I have replaced the following:
    Thermostat
02 sensor (I think it was fouled out)
    wideband sensor. (was fouled out)

Ive been in contact with VF and they haven't been much help.

Im now under the suspicion the this is a wiring fault somewhere. But im not sure where to start. Any ideas?

Considering I went through 4 tunes, I’d suggest starting there.

You went through 4 VF tunes? They have told me that the dropped OBD1 support, so im on my own if it is the actual tune.

Vf was completely useless even when they were brand new. (I've got one of the very first kits. I only bought it because the owner of VF promised that they were going to have a intercooled intake manifold in production in 6 months, and I'd get a discount on that and the kit if I prepaid. They lied. Many times...

I managed to get Karl at Active Autowerks to make a couple of tunes for me and used one of them for a few years. Then I got a local Dyno tune from a guy that ran the factory Volvo USA racing team. (now that shop is closed and I lost track of the tuning guy)

My car is kinda a 1.5. I'm using a 3.33" pulley, 38#/hr injectors, and a 3.5" HFM... I makes just shy of 9psi, and runs pretty well.

If I were to do it now, I'd contact the guys at The Racers Market, or ask someone else in the FI section.

I am going to start with putting the stock chip back in and seeing if my AFR at idle is any better. If it is, its the tune. If its not, I have a suspicion it might be the MAF itself due to the intake being so low below the fog light and the recent wet weather. So first things first is putting the chip back in. I will report back.

Small update, car still isn't running right. I tried putting the stock chip back in, car wouldn't start, so i found a red label 413 DME and put that in with the GIAC chip, still no start. So I have stock injectors on their way. Should be here by friday. Hopefully I can throw those in and the car will start on the stock chip.

You should post this thread in the FI section.

I contacted RK tunes already. they won't help me out till I buy their tune. And like alpine said, I dont think its the actual tune. There is no way VF would send out a tune that runs this rich.

I am going to try a new MAF. I guess I just gotta start eliminating variables.
