Good afternoon all ,
My question is I removed both rear axles form my 98M3 Coupe to replace Hubs and bearings, and in the process I damaged the boots on one axle ( they were split partially ) and the threads on another ..If you have ever removed original axles you will understand....
I have 2 good axles from a Z3 M Roadster, They are the same on both ends but are 1/4 in shorter when compressed as compared to the original M3 axles I removed.
My car is on coil overs and stiff springs as its mainly my Track day car....
Can the Z3M axles be used in my M3 coupe??
I feel the shorter axle will only be an issue in excessive droop of the axle, and as I have coil overs the droop will be way less than a standard suspension setup....

Unfortunately, I don't have the answer to your question, but what you're saying makes it sound like it should work.
Long Island? I don't think I've seen you around. FYI Autocross is starting up soon (three different clubs this year). Let me know if you're interested and I'll get you more info.
Thanks always interested in seat time....

Ok I ended up going with a set of replacement M3 ales even though the Z3M coupe ones fit I just wasnt sure about the 1/4 inch shorter lenght of the axles..Thanks for the input.
