Where do I find a Valve Body rebuild kit?

Do anyone know where can I find a Valve Body rebuild kit for a 4HP24 transmission? My car, 1992 850i.

There is no kit like for the 5HP30. The 4HP24 parts you have to buy as single parts based on the parts list number and serial number on the ZF sticker on the trans.
If you contact a shop like Eriksson with these details they might be able to select the necessary items, they can then print out from the ZF catalog the detailed parts list based on the serial number and the parts list number = Stucklistennummer.
Basically you need some new plastic balls, a new plate gasket, in rare cases maybe a spring, solenoids can be cleaned and polished. A dealer will of course offer you much more, just to be sure that nothing is missing.
Paper gasket for the 4HP24 I always use 1043 328 080, that is the latest version.

For 4HP22 there are even more different gasket versions based on parts lists

5HP30 based on built year

new version can replace old version but NOT vice versa, the 5HP30 will not work!

orifices are only needed if you lost one when disassembling, compression springs usually no need to replace, in abt. 10 years I have found 2 broken ones, selector shift valve can be re-used, but I have some on stock, mainly for 5HP18 and 5HP30, as they sometimes break. So such a VBK includes everything what could be necessary in worst case, but most things are not necessary. Such a VBK for the 5HP30 is also only available in the US, in Europe the shops change parts when needed.
