    E39 disa staying open

Hey! First time on bimmer so here goes. 2003 525i M54. After realising that the previous owner had removed the flap on original disa, i purchased a new complete valve. Once installed i could see at idle the valve had not moved it postion (stayed open) no apparent air leaks and motor idles ok.
Only noticable problem is a flat spot right at the start of acceleration, approx 800-1100 rpm. All ideas are welcome🤔

    Welcome to the Forum!

The DISA only actuates when you hit 4k RPM, otherwise it will remain in the open position.

Next, do you have any codes stored?

The flap on these is known to fall/break off inside the manifold. Unless you are sure it was deliberately removed you may wish to have a peek inside the manifold.
I don't think this would cause your stumble. For that I'd be checking for vacuum leaks.

If you can leave two black stripes from the exit of one corner to the braking zone of the next, you have enough horsepower. - Mark Donohue

My Disa valve bolt on the flapper was stripped (common problem / symptom ).
I bought the new German Auto Solutions Disa valve kit, and everything on the Disa is good.
The kit comes with a new flapper.
