Hello,
I have been looking at other cars. The new BMW 200 coupe is nice but I can't afford it, 52k. The 2019 3 series drives like a sedan ( can't afford it either). I drove the 2006 version of my car, but it was an automatic so I didn't like it.
Since I like my car so much, I'm thinking about restoring my E46 Coupe. It's the 3 L 2001. I thinking I might change the color to red. I will put in a new IC, tail lights, AC, suspension components. My is primary that is get repaired so I can use it as a primary car again. Then performance, fix it so it performs well, then pretty. Make it look nice.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
What issues does it have now? Rust and cosmetic issues or mechanical problems?

There's a little bit of rust on the driver A pillar. The IC needs to be replaced. There is an oil leak by the oil filter. Ac needs to be replaced, tail lights need to be replaced, probably a break job, passenger seat won't tilt - probably a stripped gear. Also the suspension parts need to be replaced.
I have already done a lot. New transmission, belts, blower motor, coolant system between radiator and engine (replaced some pipes), tires.
Ok a lot of important stuff already done, e.g new transmission, water pump, coolant system. Remaining issues,
Air filter, Cabin Filter, VC gasket, thrust breaks, sway end links, Update p/s pump, IC cluster, radio amp. Some rust on the driver A pillar, tail lights, passenger seat won't adjust. Motor ok, won't move.
