    ZR1 Map Sensor??

I'm new to all of this FI stuff but the guy I bought a bundle of parts from said I'll need to get a ZR1 Map Sensor. I have no idea where this goes or what it does and how it relates to tuning. Could I get some feedback on this?

    Thanks!

The stock e36 ecu doesn't even use a map sensor. What did you get in the bundle of parts that this was supposed to be for?

I asked the guy and he said the fabricator installed a bung on the IC piping for the MAP sensor to sit in. He said I would need to delete the stock MAF and wire the ZR1 MAP sensor to the stock ECU. When I asked how to do that he told me to ask the fabricator. So I sent the fabricator a message but I have a bad feeling about it. See pictures here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folde...uH?usp=sharing

That almost looks like a 3/8" NPT bung for a typical GM IAT sensor. Never seen a MAP sensor that would actually mount on the IC piping in a bung that large.

Could be IAT, however my stock airbox doesn't have an IAT sensor. Wondering if I should just plug it up?

I think you should do some reading and planning before listening to random comments from people who aren't fully responsible for your build.

I don't see why you would need that sensor. Most tuners require certain maf sensors to be used with their software, and I don't see this guy supplying the so-called "bundle" including any software or tuning.

If you dont know the first thing about tuning (Like me) I would suggest getting with one of the several reputable tuners for the platform. I personally run 22rpd's tune and it has exceeded my expectations. So that would be my suggestion.
