Hey guys, once again looking for another OE part. My car alarm has a pin under the hood that necessitates some kind of rubber bumper. I'm using felt pads right now but they compress and don't last. Does anyone have any idea what should be there, if you were to look under your own hood? Or can you find it at RealOEM?
Thanks!

Dave, I had the same issue with my Roadster. Never found the pad and ended up trying several things, including replacing the switch several times. I finally just unplugged the switch to take it out of the system. My thought was that you need to get into the cabin in order to open the hood, so the alarm should go off when the door was opened or the glass broken. So I'm thinking the under hood switch is redundant.
Do any of these look like the right pad?

Great guys, thanks! @khammack, this is for an aftermarket alarm, not sure if the pin it uses is stock or aftermarket. Just want to keep it simple and keep the alarm working the way it's meant to.
I search part number for 18, it looks interesting
Here is what the part your looking for looks like, its #9 http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/show...diagId=61_0145

Thanks. Looks like that's too short to reach the hood pin though. Interesting. It looks like I need at least 1/2 inch bumper. Bah, I just realized I ordered one from FCP before I saw your pics again. We'll see how it turns out.
Z3 M Roadster, looks like you're running the same wheels on your 3 as me on my Z4 M coupe. Looks great, especially with the hard top. Do you have a photo album online anywhere?
Here's my Z4 M.
