I have been 'gooogling' all the night and did not found any clear explanation or experience shared of using the ZF 5HP19 automatic transmission change from another car donor. There are different specifications marked on ZF green label going form 1060 000 004, 005, ..., 008, 009, 010, 011.
These most commonly used among different engines such as M52B20, M52B25 ... M54B20 M52B25 M52B30. There is a ZF list showing different ZF specification number for different engine. Usually it matches e46 and e39 with the same engine. It has also +1 variation starting from 99' til 2001 and from 2001 till 2003 (E39) /2005 (E46).
So my question is how different are ZF internally apart the torque conversion (TC) depending form engines 320i, 323i/Ci, 325i/Ci, 330i? All looks the same.
Is there any difference in electronic program itself (Transmission control unit)? Does older (320i model automatic transmission ZF 1060 000 004) TCU would work with the same 5HP19 from 325i or 330i (ZF 1060 000 011) engine model?
Has anyone has used ZF 5HP19 from another BMW gasoline automatic transmission with NOT exact ZF specification number and what was the experience (shifting, RPM, torque, etc.).
I want to hear not the OPINION, but the EXPERIENCE
Thank you for helping me out of finding alternative automatic transmission to change with no issues.
