I'm shopping for a coupe. There is one I'm interested in, but I noticed something strange in two of the photos. It appears there is a hole in the sheetmetal just inside the door jam on both the driver and passenger side. Is this normal for e92s? If so, what's it for?

I have never seen any thing like it. I don't think its normal. Look at another one for comparison. Is this a salvage title car?

Those have clearly been drilled in there. Probably the seller can explain.
That's definitely not normal. I've never seen anything like that. A paintless dent repair guy could have drilled them for access, but I've never seen anything that big.

Looks crazy.
You'll want to cap it so water doesn't run in.
Definitely not normal. As mentioned, it looks like a paintless dent repair was done. With a hole that big it makes me wonder on the extent of that damage. If these aren't plugged it can accelerate rust.
I would not buy it
