Transfer case cracked and inspection failed.....

2004 330xi Manual, importantly: AWD. see pic, not sure if I got a fussy inspector here in MD, it failed under Engine Mounts......anyway, how big a job is it to yank this one out and install new? I can pick one up at the junkyard for about $120, but not sure if it needs to come out of a manual junker or not?

    Any help welcome, IMG_20190119_122037.jpg

Not sure if one has to be a manual, but I swapped my auto t/c out in about 2 hours. Its pretty straight forward.

That appears to be a cracked housing. The new mount is just pressed into there.

The only other option would be to press out the mount, TIG weld the crack and file it back down, and press in a new mount.

You lost me.....press out the mount?

Ive been advised to try JB Weld, then sand it down, paint it a little and it should be ok, giving that a try.....
