Do anyone have an opinion/favorite brand?
I replaced the pads, rotor and sensors (Bowa from FCP); the rear one fit but the front didn't so I reused the old one (which had not touched the rotor), the Check Brake Lining message came on and I bought a no-name and replaced the front but the "problem" was at the rear where the the plug wasn't completely plugged in. That all work for 2-3 weeks but Check Linings error started to flicker on and off and now is solidly on (and I'm due for my annual inspection at the EOM).
These things a simple/cheap enough that I don't mind buying a pair and being done with it but $22 each for real BMW seems a bit high.
Also, I checked ESC Tuning - They had better pricing but their regular shipping was $28, more than the 2 sensors!
Thanks. Grady
I've been burned a few times buying the cheap brands for wear sensors. It kills me every time to buy genuine OEM but I just do it usually. I usually have good luck with Bowa but sometimes the shipping costs and availability are no good. If worse comes to worse you can always bypass the sensor and hardwire the sensor wires together to pass your inspection.
Just keeping it reliable and looking decent.
I found out that sensor error may not be an inspection error... Fingers crossed. But with new everything new I want the light out!
Yeah, the only good ones are OE. That being said, if you are on top of pad wear, just reuse the indicators - I only am on my third indicator on my wife’s r53 mini in 13 years, and 138k miles.
