Hello guys, so here is what I am dealing with. I have a 2002 325i. I noticed a gas leak a while back, coming from the center of the car. I shut the car down to investigate. Didn't see much, started it back up and it did nothing, no leaking. Drove it like that for a few weeks, then it started again. I opened the hood and saw it coming from the top of one of the injectors. I took all the injectors out, put new o rings on all of them, resembled the car, and it seemed good.
Drove it for a couple of days, filled it up with gas, put about 10 miles on it, then it started pouring out again. Moved it into the garage to investigate, now it is not doing it. I am so confused. Now I keep going out in the garage to start it and cannot get it to leak again. It literally pours out of the car.
Any ideas?
Go to home depot and buy one of these:

For $20 it works extremely well locating leaks.
Open your gas cap and try it there so you have confidence in the tool.
The only way to find the gas leak is to get the car up in the air while the engine running g. I’m betting one if the three rubber hoses at the fuel filter is leaking. Each hose is about 2” in length. They connect the steel gas lines to the fuel filter. The filter is located under the car, under the driver’s seat, behind a steel panel inboard of the frame rail. Replace the filter with one made by either Mahle or Keyser. Don’t install an aftermarket fuel filter as the filter contains the fuel pressure regulator.
Also I would remove the rear seat cushion the acess panels for the left and right fuel senders and see if there is recented staining. Does it leak only after filling the tank, if so the leaks mostly from the mentioned areas above
I will check all the mentioned and reply with a status. Thanks a ton guys! Much appreciated.
Marco you don't like Mann fuel filters?
I’ve never installed a Mann fuel filter. I’ve always bought Mahle fuel filters. I do buy Mann oil filters and I’ve never had a problem with them. So I think it’s safe to assume that a Mann fuel filter should be ok.
Ok, I asked in case you had a reason you didn't mention Mann. My E46 has had a Mann fuel filter for 2 years and it has been fine.
I didn't realize mahle also made fuel filters for our cars. I will try one of those next fuel filter change.
Thanks
Not a problem!
