Agreed, but that was not my question. I ask you again : is it possible to do a direct heater core flush in the way chrisfix does, considering you're only going to do it once every 2 years ? If you feel it is really not possible or requires too much dexterity and effort for it to be realistically done, or too much risk that something important will be damaged along the way etc, that's perfectly fine. We can think of some other method and I'm sure eventually someone will think of a good way to do it.
Thats the way I flushed my heater core. hooked up to the center pipe and turned the water on gently, lot's of gunk came out.
You flushed your heater core by a direct connection yes. But you did it after first removing the intake manifold (for some other initial purpose) correct ?
Yes, to change the heater hose that comes out of the back of the head. It was leaking due to a split.
So my question is, do you think, flushing the heater core by external hose directly connected to it, can be done with the manifold STILL in there ? In and out ? Or is it too difficult to do ?
still in, but the wiring loom and ducting at the rear, upper part of the enging compt needs to be loosened.
I see. Thank you.
So now we all know what to do. The thing is, is there an even easier way to ensure the heater core gets properly flushed during a coolant flush effort ?
