And so it begins!
Well, not exactly, but we're getting under full steam anyway.
We've had him for almost two years now with the intent of restoring him, but until recently we've only done routine maintenance.
However, of late he's begun stumbling really hard at take off and idling badly, and emitting smells that range from sulphur to that of hot oil, so it's time to get serious about this before he becomes just another donor car.
Right now his driver has her foot and her concern planted firmly in my posterior, so I'm kicking this into high gear. I figure that anytime your wife has taken an interest in a car and driving, a wise man jumps on the opportunity.
We've got a Bentley manual on the way, as well as a working throttle position sensor, to hopefully correct his idling and hesitation issues.
So here we go, we've recognized that we are truly addicts and likely in for a long, expensive and painful endeavor, but the drive makes it all worth it#
Well, we're a couple of weeks in now. So far we have just b fine some much needed maintenance.
The item that has given us the most improvement has definitely been the replacement of the throttle position sensor. That cleaned his drivability up the most. However, he's also had his thermostat changed, and a front brake change.
With all of that said however, during the process I've survived some troubling issues, such as major oil leaks, and cracked ignition wires.
