Hi guys.
All the above have stopped working.
Found that the carpet was extremely wet and that water has been getting in underneath the windscreen cowling where the wires go through a rubber grommet into the car.
We've let the car sit in the sun and everything is now dry.
When I press any window switch...I'll get one click and nothing will work.
Have done and checked the following:
- Swapped out both RM and GM
- Checked all fuses and fusible links. All are good
- Checked and swapped out all relays under the rear seat
- Checked some of the bundled wires at the back for corrosion ( haven't checked the red stack of wiring though yet)
If I rig up power to any of the windows they will work.
I'm am somewhat lost as to where to look next.
Could the wires (if broken) that follow the boot hinge cause these issues, even in a sedan?

Is the click from the relay module, or the door whose window you're trying to open?
They wouldn't even in a wagon. I suspect you have bad/corroded contacts between the power supply and relay module. Hairline cracks in otherwise healthy-looking fusible links can cause similar behavior, too.Could the wires (if broken) that follow the boot hinge cause these issues, even in a sedan?
check once more the fusible link for haircracks. One goes to the engine bay, and the other one goes to the driver side rear seat and to the GM, RM, relays etc, all the the functions which do not work are controlled by the GM, RM.
Here pics from an E32, the first 2 pics is the fusible link which goes to the engine bay, the last one is the fusible link which goes to driver side rear seat http://www.bimmerboard.com/forums/posts/377728/

Shogun tricks and tips for the E32 series are HERE!
Apologies for the late reply.
@moroza - The click is coming from the relay module. Nothing seems to happen at the doors.
@shogun/moroza - I have swapped out the fusible link that sits in the plastic holder. I'll swap out the other one and see if anything changes.

Make sure to check all of the splices under the backseat, as well as ones under the carpet in the rear driver's side footwell. There are about 40 of them. Pull off the plastic caps to verify no corrosion. I would also check the boot hinge wires as well. They are easy to get to and fix and will eliminate any variables.
