    Mass air flow sensor

I have a 2010 328xi N52 engine that has a rough idle and sometimes stalls at idle. It runs good at all other RPMs. The rough idle goes away when the mass air flow sensor is unplugged but I didn't try to run it on the street
with it unplugged. If the problem was from a vacuum leak instead of the sensor would it run better when unplugged ? It is also throwing a fault code for the MAF which I understand could be from either the MAF or a vac leak.
Also I saw on a post that there was no difference between a 328xi and a 328i xdrive but I see suppliers listing sensors for both with different year restrictions. Thanks for any help !

Post the codes if you still have them.. but yes, often it's vacuum leaks or maf, unless there is a maf signal error. Then I would lean more for maf.

Some codes are 2D06 MAF and 2AB4 control unit int fault along with a bunch of misfire codes witch are probably from the fuel metering do to other problems. I cleared codes and started the engine and took it up through the RPMs but did not drive it.
I checked codes again and 2D06 was back. Is there a spec for the MAF output at a given RPM , throttle position , and inlet air temp ? With the scanner connected and set to PIDs, I found the sensor output was changing with throttle position but I have
no way of knowing if it drifted or span is correct.
