Hey guys, I just sold my E36 and picked up a 2004 E46 330ci. It has the angel eyes. The build sheet says they came on the car, yet there is some funky wiring going to the angel eyes. They may not be stock. One of the low beams, the right passenger side xenon, is out. I knowingly bought it like that, I didn't know there was as much to them. Well before I get in there and diagnose as well as replace things, I was wondering if there were upgraded bulbs or anything? Yes I only have one low beam working currently but at one point my E36 had a low beam out as well and they were much brighter. I had Philips Crystal Vision Ultra halogen bulbs. Are they naturally not that great?
Thanks in advance!
e46 never came with angel eyes, they were added after the fact by the previous owner. As a matter of fact, I would not exclude a possibility of the entire light housing being after market.
Swap the working bulb to the non working side: if it lights up, you simply need a bulb. OEM housing uses D2S style.
