    1995 BMW M3 Turbo?

Just bought a 95' M3 with 230k miles. Car runs and drives good but can hear the lifters ticking. I wanna get it up to at least 400 hp. Any recommendations? Would I need need a rebuild to add a turbo and get that power without blowing out the motor or is there another way to do it?

    400hp is readily achievable.

Something like a spa manifold, 3” intercooler, and gt30r/35r would get you there.

I can set you up with a chip to run the turbo on your cars electronics.

Pm me if you want more info.

Try changing to a heavier weight oil and see if the noise goes away. There is a link in this subforum for tried and tested setups. As Vollosso said, SPA T3 manifold, GT35r, 42lb injectors, 44mm wastegate, 803 MAF, 12x24x3 intercooler, CES headgasket/arp studs and you're golden.

When you are ready to build it I would recommend that you pull the head off with the motor in the car, clean up the block and head surfaces, and put in the CES cutring and copper spacer headgasket to lower the compression. At the same time you can put in a new set of lifters and also install the turbo manifold before you put the head back on, which will save you a lot of aggravation.

As you can tell from the previous posts, definitely get a CES headgasket combo. 400whp+ is super easy on these motors.

I’d drop the pan and inspect the rotating assembly as good as I could and also check the head and cylinder bores for wear. As long as the tune is good (RK-Tunes is the best), the engine should handle, although the mileage is a little to be honest.
