Ive been searching for help to solve an issue with my e60 m5. I have been getting an increased emissions warning for quite some time. Recently after driving rather spirited the car lost a significantly and noticable amount of power. The only codes Im pulling are 2717 and 279D. When I reset the codes there is a lound clunk from under the hood as soon as I hit the reset button and the codes immediately come back. The car drives fine no rough idling or anything it just has no power at all. I changed the precat O2 sensors and still runs the same. Any help would be appreciated.
You need to take it to a good bmw indepentent shop for dx. Maybe the cluck noise is the throttles resetting

Welcome to the forum.
If you'll post the WORDS of the codes, and tell what scan tool you were using to read them, we may be able to help. Good diagnostic scan tools all use words, not just code numbers, so nobody ever tries to memorize the many thousands of code numbers and descriptions. Besides, these code numbers often take different meanings for different generations of cars, so the wording is crucial.
