Hi, I replaced my radiator fan and to do so I needed to take off the radiator. Doing so I broke both the mounting clips on the top (I'll put a picture of them if you don't know what I'm talking about). I was wondering if you can drill holes to use bolts to mount the radiator instead of those stupid clips.

Just buy new clips
E36 radiator stay made of alumuinum, $55 http://rebooteng.com/parts/e36-radiator-stay/
This part replaces the factory plastic hinged radiator brackets for BMW E36 chassis which commonly break. This kit includes everything necessary to replace both OEM radiator stays. All machined parts are made of 6061 Aluminum with stainless steel hardware. Each stay is a two piece assembly that clamps onto the core support.

I took some aluminum bar stock — maybe 1”X3” and bent it into an L shape. The end of the L went into the The stock into the radiator slot. I drilled the long end and screwed to the front sheet metal. Has worked well for 10 years.
