    Drain, Drain, Drain....

It comes for timm but all the electricians masters. I have a few issues with my 8er after a vandalish atack. First of all, i sent my GM to a reputate member of this forum that changed the capacitors and everything was ok, But a son of a bi.. broke my window and after that the car drain batteries again. Iīm desperate couse I donīt know to locate the fail. Revisted any wirws and I have failure of the wiring in the boot hinge and in wires to the left pop up light. thats things could be the cause of the drain? Maybe there are any conection in the new window that is not plugued an keep the GM awake? In such case, cancelling the alarm could solve the problem? Besides, when I push the wiper lever for a swept (not raise for different speed) the fuse 15 blows automatically. Any Ideas for my mental health?
    Thaks in advance

As the problem re-started when the window was broken the first thing to check is the rear window switch on the broken side (which is used to detect if the window was broken) - this can be found by removing the rear panel as described in this routine:

    https://www.meeknet.co.uk/e31/Panels...eplacement.htm

I've never had to fiddle with it but I guess access is made by removing the access cover as seen below:

If Fuse 15 blows when the stalk is pressed then it is very likely that the Intensive Wash pump has failed - this can be tested by removing the intensive wash relay K42 - if that makes no difference try removing K5 which would indicate a fault with the main wash pump.

After fixing those problems check if you have current drain by measuring it as described below:

    ....and here:

....and let us know the value of the drain.....

And what I have to do with the switch? Disconnect?
In other order Is possible that the probables shortcuts in the boot hinge and headlight causes the drain?

I would go for replacing either the main or intensive wash motors depending on which relay stops the fuse blowing. If you have any other problems it is best to repair those anyway, let alone in respect to current drain.

And again, rather than guess if you have current drain - measure it exactly as the routine including replacing batteries if required.
