Hunting on idle from cold and EGR valve cleaning

Hi All,

I have a E39 320D 2008 with N47 engine and recently it has developed an issue on start up from cold, the idle seem not smooth at all, for about 5 minutes or until the engine warms up, the idle is like hunting up and down, not really sure other way to describe it really...? It is almost like pressing the acceleratoer for a second then letting it go continually, after the warm up it is all back to normal.

Also, anyone know if the EGR valve is easy to take off and clean on it?

Any ideas anyone?
