Wrote on this few weeks ago, but have tried everything I know. So far no help:
02 325i
Codes 1351 & 1353 pop on (fuel cut off)
Always happens at norm oper. temp at IDLE ONLY-rough idle, no power backfire
Ive done:
smoke test-neg.
new fuel pump-no help
exchanged #s 5 & 6 coils-no help
new plugs-no help
Whats interesting is that Ive plugged in my OBD II reader with motor running and erased the codes. As soon as I do, the motor straightens out again, runs great. only lasts a few min though.
Can someone please HELP??
Since 1351 and 1353 are codes for cylinders 5&6, swapping the coils between the 2 of them isn't going to reveal a failing coil. (Unless by "exchanged", you mean that you put in new ones).
Also, the crank and cam sensors should be tested.

When the DME (engine computer) sees too many misfires from any cylinder in a given amount of time, it shuts off fuel to that cylinder - until the code is cleared, or engine restart. Then, it starts counting again.
If you put in new coils and new NGK BKR6 EQUP spark plugs, then you might have (a) injector issues, (b) coil driver (DME) issues, (c) wiring issues, or (d) engine mechanical issues (like compression / valves bent/ head gasket, etc)
