Hi, what would be the max width and height to put on a Sedan e46 on 16 Rims for more stability

Define more stability.
There should be no need to deviate from the factory 16" tire size. If its more grip you're talking about then you need a different compound of rubber and/or tire pressure, not size.
Thanks, the thing is I have another e46 with 17 rims
235/45/17 and it feels like it runs better with wider tires
Its not the width. Its the thinner sidewall of the 17" gives it that feel. There is less deflection.

When I go from my 16" runflat summer tires to non-runflat snows, it feels like I'm going to roll the tires over on the sidewalls when I turn, at least till I get used to it. It was even worse back when I had 17" summers instead of switching 16s back and forth on the same rims like I do now.
