Wondering if anyone has tried this limited slip setup? I want posi so bad in this car, but the usual options are sooo expensive! Anyone tried these guys from Serbia?

I have no experience with these guys. But another route is to get a '95 3.15 and install a E46 m3 Lsd unit inside and just reuse the 3.15 ring.

I am just a bit concerned of the quality of those, I mean that's like 1/4 the price of a quaife. Maybe my concerns are unjustified but it seems to good to be true lol

I can say with out a doubt that Quaife makes a quality product. I put a Quaife in my 2013 Mini and it absolutely transformed the car. Also the build quality looked top notch, beautifully machined finished.

To install this kit it requires machining some material off the spider gears and off the axles. Its a small amount of material, but requires machining which adds cost.

The ebay listing makes no mention of machining need to make the new diff fit.

Which is exactly why I asked for the installation instructions before I bought the kit. The instructions reveal that machining is required on two spider gears and on both axle stubs.

(To be clear, I don’t know anything about limited slip “LSD” or open differentials). John, you are talking about removing the internals or guts of the e46 M3 3.62 LSD and installing those parts in the carrier of the 95 740 3.15 open differential?

E38 limited slip -- anyone try "racingdiffs"

Okay, to my understanding at this current time, to produce a custom limited-slip differential “LSD” for my 01 e38 sport shorty, you first need the 3.15 open differential carrier from the e38 1995 740i/iL chassis and the e46 2000-06 M3 3.62 LSD (my LSD is from a 2003 M3 donor).

From here this is what gets confusing and probably why more than likely I will not tackle this job myself and it to the professionals to do the actual job. From the information on the BMW forums, the internals, or the “guts” of the M3 3.62 LSD needs to be removed from the M3 carrier, and eventually be placed inside the carrier from the (1995 only) 3.15 open differential that goes into the e38 only, once the internals from the open differential is removed and disregarded.

Can anyone give me any other tips or suggestions on how this would be done? -Ryan

I must have missed this on along the way. I have a 3.15 ready to go in as soon as I get the stage 4 Dinan engine and trans tune. Maybe I'll take the diff that comes out and try to modify it. I know with some cutting and welding an e39 M5 diff and be installed. For now I'm going to complete my winter upgrades and get back on the track.

Correct, but the 3.15 ring gear needs to be installed on the lsd unit.
