You almost had it. It's a GIUBO, not a gu!do or a guibo. Your term is actually quite derogatory.

Being a software engineer you are 99% there..

I purchased an old HP tablet from Goodwill for $20, with $20 on cables I now have a dedicated Auto diagnostic device.
Also use it for my VW cars with the correct software.
I installed INPA on a Mac Air laptop running Win10...if I can get that to work, anyone should be able to set it up

    We’re both wrong. It’s Guibo.

Yikes. I concur. The parts houses obviously aren’t always right either. Sorry for correcting you Nathan.

Funny, I was just going back in to reference the name in my online dictionary when I saw this Wiki post. Thanks for setting the record straight.

Anyway, the OP should check his Giubo for cracks.

Hey all, just got the cables in and plan on installing INPA onto a laptop today. Is there anything special I need to get everything to work well together, like installing drivers, etc.? If not, I'll just be trying to follow the guide you linked. Thanks!

Follow the instructions in the thread EXACTLY. I failed in my first attempt, didn't know why, so I just started again at the beginning, with more care, and it worked. You are much better at computers than I am, so you probably will have no trouble.
FYI (from my poor memory, so forgive me it this is not correct) : If there is no "S52" option, the "M52" is the one to use. They are the same, except for mechanical diffs, like displacement, cams, and ???

It worked perfectly! Windows tried to quarantine one of the files, so I ended up having to re-download, but it's actually really impressive how powerful the tool is.

I'm wishing that instead of wasting my 2+ hours with the Chinese tool I went straight to INPA instead, but regardless, now I can at least be informed before I make any rash decisions if/when I need to take the car into the shop!
