Hello everyone!!
SO, I haven't driven my bmw 328ix 09 since December because my dog had to get a splenectomy in Virginia and when i got back it said my o2 sensors were bad and that wa s causing my car issues. We replaced the o2 sensors, it had a hard time starting up so we plugged my diesel truck up to it because maybe the battery was dead. It would start and then it would idle for 2 seconds then turn on. we finally got it to turn on and we let it charge for 40 minutes or so hooked up. we took it for a short drive it was fine, i turned it off and turned it right back on. it was still fine. After letting it sit for a few hours and trying to take it for a drive it would idle then turn right off. i got it to turn on and took it for a trip and it was bucking and my service engine light soon came on. What could it be?? we cleared out the codes, let it run it was fine. Im thinking it could be because it wasnt charged enough or that since it was jacked up on my gas tank side that not enough fuel is getting to it? I had 86 miles. Please help me
You cleared out some of the most valuable information regarding the problem..
What said your O2 sensors were bad? Did you save any error codes?
You need a proper diagnosis with tools that can read BMW manufacturer codes, and then a few tests done on the car to find out the cause. Among these a smoke test to find vacuum leaks in the intake.
