E30 w S50 swap SC or TC setups for the track.

Yes I’ve tried searching the deep internet for the answers and have not found the answers.




I have found an e30 I really like but I’m going from a 12 s4 and know that 240 or so hp is not going to cut it for me.


What are some known preferably kits for an E30 w an S50 swap for a track / weekend toy.

Would prefer a DIY kit because I can’t seem to find any shops in my area to help.

Appreciate any input

A 240hp E30 will feel like a rocket ship compared to a 2012 Audi S4 (I'm assuming you mean Audi S4, by the words "12 s4")

2012 S4 makes 333hp and weighs 3,900lbs
E30 S52 makes 240hp at 2800lbs.

BTW, an S52 with a tune, exhaust, HFM, and M50 manifold makes around 270hp.

S4 power to weight ratio : 0.08538
E30 S52 bolt ons pwr/weight: .09643


Nobody to my knowledge makes a bolt on S/C or bolt on Turbo kit for a 24v E30, though I can't see how most S/C kits for an E36 M3 wouldn't work in an E30 with some simple modifications.

Thanks for the info. Yes b8 s4. Makes way more than 333hp stock they are very underrated. but yes it was a sled.... and I did the same math on power to weight.

That being said I know I’ll get bored quick w 240ish hp.

the car I’m looking at is an s50 and It does have some mods headers, free flow exhaust and tune but that’s it.


If no kits then I will carry on my search to find someone setup I can mimic.

Still interested to hear how people feel about Turbo vs SC for the track.

Also should have mentioned the Audi was my DD and track toy but now that it’s gone I can enjoy something that is not setup for DD

Go with a stg2 sc kit it will give u about 350 r so if u have the M3 cams as well
