I purchased a 2011 x5 35d about 4 months ago
was looking for tires and seems to be 2 different sizes the front is smaller than the back
it awd I thought the tires had to be the same size all around im confused dose anyone know
Do a google search for "staggered tire set-up". You should find lots of info as to why that type of set-up is used and how it creates a specific understeer for a specific type of handling. You will also discover how the tires (though different size) have the same overall rolling circumference...or each axle is at least within 3% (+/-) of each other which is exceptable.
Example of google search result using aforementioned phrase above: https://www.tirebuyer.com/education/...e-wheel-setups
