Hey everyone, i am nearly finished with my turbo m52b28 e30 build, and at the last minute i realized my hy35 just isn't going to work due to compressor housing not meeting up properly with the manifold, etc. (I hadn't tried actually bolting it on, just sat it on for mock up purposes, don't flame me)
I am building a weekend track/street car looking for 350-450whp. I am looking for a fairly quick spool and the most power under the curve possible. I was recommended the Borg Warner s257sxe, but wasn't recommended a turbine housing size. I am thinking an .82 a/r as i have a rapid spool/good and tight manifold and this looks to be the right size. I am trying to make a quick decision as i was looking to start the car this weekend, though that clearly isn't happening...
Am i making a mistake here? Are my IAT's going to be too high on the track? Am i picking the right turbine size?
Thanks in advance.

Should be fine with a .82 A/R. With a S257sxe expect full boost really quick though, and in an e30 that much torque so early on is going to be a handful in the lower gears lol.

I hope so! I am running 245's with sticky rubber. I plan on doing full aero for track use and everything else i can do to add grip (mechanical and aero)
Will be great. I had a s256sx on an s52 that tapped out at 465. A 257sxe will do north of 500. Will be a great turbo for your intended use.
Thanks everyone for the feedback. Turns out one of the places I was considering ordering from is local, so hopefully I can pick up this turbo today.
