    N43B20 power differences

    Hi,

I am new to this forum, but I've been wondering about this for a while.
I've got an '09 116i which has the same n43b20 engine as the 120i. However, in the 120i it produces 170hp and in mine only 122hp. I would like to know if there's any way to "upgrade" my engine to get the same power output as the 120i. I've found some more info about the engine on some russian site:

    • N43B20U0 - 143 hp basic version (190 Nm) , was put on the model with an index of 18i.
    • N43B20O0 - forced up to 170 hp (210 Nm) engine version, was put on the BMW model
    • N43B20K0 - “choked” to 122 hp (185 Nm) version of the engine, designed for versions of the BMW with an index of 16i.

As I said, does anyone know of a way to upgrade my engine? And if at all possible, would doing it be "wise" or would it drastically lower the car's lifespan?

    Cheers,
