I have a 1989 325i convertible that needs a new battery. The battery is in the engine compartment, not the trunk. Does anyone know the stock size, CCA, reserve recommendations?
Also, I live in a mild climate (Los Angeles) and I don't drive this car that much (really just once a week or so--except when another car in our family is in the shop). Do these usage conditions warrant a different size battery?
As a matter of convenience, I am considering just having AAA come out an replace the battery. I've had mixed luck on their batteries, but when they fail early the warranty helps. Other than paying a bit more, are there any reasons I should avoid a AAA battery?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions!!
If the car sits a lot and is not in a battery tender you could just throw an agm battery in it. The agm will take the sitting around abuse really well
A convertible takes a t5 battery. Not much choice in quality, all premium. Sam's $110 Walmart #120
