Purchased CPO car that failed a Battery test

    Hello,

I just purchased a 2015 435i Gran Coupe from a dealership that was CPO. I just had it delivered to me and took it to my Bmw dealership near where I live to get it smog checked and they notified me that the battery failed its tests and it would need a new battery... Should the dealer who sold me this CPO car be held accountable or what actions should I take next? Any insights would be appreciated!

Leave I think to the dealer to either not charge the battery, because the car sat to much and then after charging it not to load test it. There idiots. It used to be there was really no check list for cpo cars then BMW got called in the carpet because things like worn out brake pads would show up after you bought the car, the brake lining light would come on.

Exactly, I'm going to reach out to dealership and let them know the voltage its running when they test the battery and tell them that it was delivered to me with bad batteries and its their responsibilities to pay for it. Can't think of anything else to do because I definitely don't want to shell out $650 for battery, program, and installation.

smog checked the battery?,lol. In my 100 cars, the battery"test" was did it start or not, a 4 year old BMW shouldn't need a battery.

They did a full inspection of the car and also checked the battery as well, thus why they ran a battery test.

The bottom line is have them check the battery you just bought the car

I don’t think CPO covers batteries but maybe there is a little original warranty left that does

If it did need a battery a good independent could install it and register for less

Read the contract, probably a "NOT COVERED" section.

"CPO", we officially certify that this is a used car, I always chuckle at the acronym, I've never bought anything with a warranty, mostly salvage vehicles..
