What attaches here?

Can anyone help identify what is attached to the hole in the picture below? This is the rear intake side of the head. I can't remember what was originally attached here, thinking it was a bracket or something like that.

Off the top of my head, I believe It helps support the bracket for the wiring loom going down the block or the heater hose.

Wire loom mount is in the middle.

As you can see from my 97+ casting head, that spot is not tapped.

my wire loom also attaches in the middle. I can't seem to find anything in the vicinity of the rear hole that matches. BTW my new head did not have either hole. I drilled and tapped them to match my old head.
