Hi guys
For the past year, I have been thinking about what car to buy. I have test driven many cars and none of them met my expectations in terms of power. Yesterday i test drove a 2018 330i and since then I have become crazy for this car. it's exactly what I want in terms of power. omg when you step on the gas, it feels like a tornado is pushing you, I don't know how to describe it. That car is scary. When I was going uphill it felt like I am going downhill. I test drove the infiniti g37 which supposedly has much more horsepower than this but it doesn't feel nearly as powerful. I guess horsepower is not everything?
I am very new to bmw's, all I hear from people around me is german cars are expensive to maintain, the repair parts are expensive, don't buy, lease, etc etc.
I have some questions
1) I noticed the 328i is less pricey than the 330i. Will the 328i feel just as powerful? I know I can just test drive it, but I don't want to waste the dealer's time.
2) At what mileage does this car start giving you problems?
3) At what mileage does this car start depreciating a lot? I have done some data analysis of my own and it seems to me like at around 40,000 miles these cars depreciate a lot.
If I buy a certified preowned 2015 328i that has like 30,000 miles on it and keep it for a couple of years and sell at 40,000 miles, will I be safe for the most part from expensive repairs, things breaking down on me, and the car's value crashing on me?
Thanks guys, like I said, brand new to bmws and I am sure I will have more questions.

Moved from the General BMW Discussion sub-forum to the model specific area.

Well the 330 is newer than the 328, so it would be logical for the 330 to cost more.
I have a 328 and I've had 330 loaners a few times. I can't really notice any difference in power, even though the 330 is rated with 8 more HP; but I was driving in commuter traffic, so I couldn't really open it up.

The F30 330i and F30 328i will feel, for the most part, completely identical. The 328i comes with the N20/N26 engine and is rated 241 HP and 261 lb-ft. The 330i comes with the B48 engine and is rated 248 HP and 258 lb-ft. Very very very similar. The reason you're feeling such a notable difference in the 328/330 vs. G37 is that while the G37 makes more horsepower, the N20/N26/B48 engines have a LOT of torque from down low thanks to modern cylinder heads, direct injection, turbo control, etc.
Can't go wrong with either - I have a '15 328 RWD w/ sport auto transmission and LOVE it.
