Hey fellas,
I think I've got an electrical problem I can't figure it out to save me. My instrument cluster died, along with the instrument lights. Hours later the car nearly strands me after a half mile of driving. For the record, it's never done either before. So, I'm thinking maybe it's the battery since it's a few years old, although it showed zero signs of dying. But, sure enough I replaced the battery and "boom" I've got the gauges and lights back, but it still won't idle. My scanner is showing code P0101, which is the MAF sensor. Since both the gauges and not idling happened at nearly the same time, I'm figuring they've gotta be related, but just to be sure I tested the fuel pump, which is ok, the idle control valve, which I removed and cleaned, is ok, and although I can't test it, the ECU seems fine, because I'm told it's very rare for one to have a problem, plus my scanner isn't throwing any code other than the MAF. Am I missing something? Anyone know a way to test it without just replacing it? I'm told by a mechanic and three different parts stores that the chances of the MAF going bad is slim to none, but I did replace the battery. Could a low charged battery damage the MAF somehow? Any qualified advice is greatly appreciated.
Now that the new battery is in I would check the charging system
Hello - take a look at the link below to an earlier thread where this is discussed. Hope this helps you out.

Hey Pelican Parts. Thank you. Turns out there's several youtube videos. Who knew?
Have you considered the possibility that when you replaced battery, the throttle adaptations were cleared or reset?
Clean MAF with CRC MAF Cleaner
Check condition/gap of sparkplugs
Check battery cables, along with all engine ground straps for clean snug connections.
Test FUEL PRESSURE at Schrader valve with a fuel pressure gauge.
