    modifying stock 325e

Want to ask for opinions regarding whether it wise to cosmetically modify (not interested in hearing opinions of what to do with engine) a very very original 1985 325e (manual) with only 86k miles. Will adding a front "es" valance/under bumper spoiler and the rear "es/is" trunk spoiler impact value of this car, or perhaps enhance the value?
    Thanks

Depends who your target market is.
A collector, then yes it will decrease value.
Fellow E30 fan-boy, then yes it will increase value.

Are you doing this because the car could use those parts or is this just 'an upgrade' ? If the car is truly very original and doesn't require any new parts, leave it as is. Just my 2 cents. The above user is correct.

Thanks for the responses. I purchased more as an investment, don't consider myself a fellow E30 fan-boy, since I am in my early 60's. I do also have a very original 325is (1988) with less than 100k miles, and like the look of the "is" over the 325e. I think I will not modify other than new suspension parts (it feels somewhat floaty as compared to the "is") and maybe a chip. Recommendations on what I would need to tighten up the suspension and what performance chip (Pelican??).
    Thanks again.

Strut/Shock replacements rang from Gabriel, Monroe, KYB on the low end that would work for a car driven a few miles per year to Bilstein or Koni Sports and Eibach or H&R Sport springs for aggressive street/track days.

Turner was the designated distributor for Conforti chips, ECS Tuning now owns Turner.

There are several chip ‘burners’ now at various price points.

I have a 1984 325e with a Conforti chip installed...it boosts the hp from 121 to about 145, torque increase, too. A chip is the best bang for your buck for boosting the power of an eta engine.

    No e30s, again :(
It truly is. That is a great way to make the eta more fun
