Bob, you mean Hendersonville, right? I looked up Henderson, NC, and found that it's north of Raleigh which would be a bit far...

The BMW CCA Foundation just announced a new exhibit "PASSION: 50 Years of BMW Cars & Community" that will open to the public on May 20th and that will have a preview event for Vintage attendees on Friday, May 17th. The exhibits they mounted in 2017 and 2018 were excellent, they were definitely worth a visit. I have no doubt that this one will be interesting as well. See you there!
Yes Dirk I did mean Hendersonville. sorry.
Anyone planning to drive the Tail of The Dragon while there?
Almost 500 vehicles registered for the event at this point. We are up to 7 E32's so far. Might be 1 or 2 more since there is quite a few people registered without a vehicle for make and model.
Two months and counting.
Narly9999, looks like that trail is far west of Asheville.
Any last minute E32's going to join? we are less than a month out and up to 609 vehicles registered. (I count 7 E32's thus far) would be nice to have eight or nine.

I just saw over on the Vintage Facebook page a beautiful E 32 owned by John Hancock. He said he will try to meet us at the Clarion on Saturday morning. He is coming from Knoxville for just one day. The picture of his car is so nice I may leave my 730i home and take the freshly painted 84 633CSi. (Just kidding Dirk). His car is a stick and Turboed !!
I am having the 730i checked over and am going to try to get some paint work done before the event if I have time.
Hey Bob, can you please post the link to the Vintage Facebook Page. I'd love to see this E32 from Knoxville. Thanks
Jeff
Just found it.......What a beautiful color that is. It looks like this owner found a way to space 19 or 20 inch wheels on the car. I've never seen a look like that. It really is beautiful.

I was driving eastbound on Sunrise Highway this past Thursday evening. A dark gray E32 M70 blew past me and exited somewhere around Westhampton NY. Any ideas as to who it might be?
Hey Ken,
Just reading the words "Sunrise Highway" brings me back to 1965, right after I got my drivers license. Even though I grew up five minutes from Nathan's in Coney Island, driving east on the Belt Parkway, staying in that right lane that brought me up on to the Sunrise Highway and driving about ten minutes to Nathan's Oceanside was like a cross country trip for me at 17. We all did that drive just to see that we could. Also, that Long Island Nathan's had a back room with games. Be nice to turn the clock back.

I was justy asked by Dirk if my offer for lodging on the way south is still viable. Yes it is. If anyone coming down 95 past DC would like to crash at my house thursday evening the invite is open. Dirk already has the spare bedroom so all I can offer is floor and sofa space. We will have a 3000 sq ft garage to play in if anyone needs repairs done on the fly as well. Address is 45650 Clearbrook Lane California, MD 20619. It's about an hour south of the DC beltway and we will be taking the 301 bridge across to Virginia the next morning. I also have a plethora of e32 spares if anyone needs them.
Hi to all the Vintage Travelers!
Just a quick update. The E 32 group is meeting at the Clarion (the host hotel) at 9:30 on Saturday morning to drive as a group to the event so we can park together at the event. This is the ONLY way we can park together at the event if we enter the site as a group.
Joanne and I will be meeting our unofficial E 32 Chapter President Abdul in St. Augustine. My partner from last year will not be making the trip he has Grand-baby sitting duties but wishes everyone a good time.
Looking forward to seeing every one there. Please All travel safe. Zieg
Bob, will we meet or depart at 9:30? ;-) I vote for the latter.
I'm in Baltimore now and my car already exceeded its yearly quota of rain... Continuing to Asheville on Thursday taking a southerly route via Interstates 95, 85 and 40.

Let's see pictures please! En route or at the destination
Have a safe travel everyone, and a good time at the Vintage.
Here you go. "en route" includes "in the hotel", doesn't it? I left the Quebec and Ontario maps at home. They should have been in this picture as well.

Well for those of us for whom it was impossible to make it to The Vintage, it was a great thing to follow the entire thing on this open Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/groups/322743328981/
All the photos, all the breakdowns. One guy with a dead battery another who lost his alternator and fuel pump on this excursion, those having the best times just hanging out together. I guess with over 500 cars you'd have to expect a few mechanical problems. So many people posted on this page during the past three days I just signed on every few hours to read. Only thing missing here are the E32 guys. I keep checking. Man I wish I could have made the trip. Just looked great.

Jeff the E 32 guys (the Forgotten Vintage BMW) made a good showing. The trip was great sorry you could not make it by I understand. There are many stories to tell but first I have to catch up with work. Joanne will get around to posting up pictures soon.
Safe to say the weather was perfect if not little hot. Scott and his team did a fantastic job of putting on the event. This was my 14 time attending. We met up with many old friends especially at the "Passion" exhibit. Great to see but there were some melancholy moments when we found out that some of our 20+ year old friends are no longer with did not make it or are no longer with us. BUT there was a bright spot as there car was driven by another member so they were there in spirit. All in All the event was a success and Abdul was re-elected the unofficial E 32 President for he and his wife holding the Saturday night get together. More to follow.
I hope "y'all" made it home safely, without any defects and without contributing to some local governments' budgets. I just got home after driving 4009 km (2491 miles) through two provinces and nine states. My car performed flawlessly.
It was great to see a lot of familiar faces, meet some new people and look at many nice cars. A big thanks goes to Abdul and Ally (?) for hosting Saturday's pizza party.
Looking forward to The Vintage 2020.
This year I took very few pictures. Here are just two. One shows all eight E32 that were present at the event. (This image is a composite of two shots.)
After almost everyone left, I asked the gentleman from BMW of Asheville who, as a sponsor of the event, had a few new cars on the field whether we could take a picture of his and my 7 parked next to each other. He was happy to do that.
Have a look at BimmerLife, the BMW CCA's weekly. They included a photo that shows our cars in the background.
