Looked for this elsewhere on the forum, but couldn't find. Picked up a 99 2.8 Z3 Coupe in really nice shape. 2nd owner had all the oil change records back to day
1 and this car has never gone more than 4000 mi without an oil change. Now has 140k on the clock. How long might the motor last on this baby?
I just love the car, so just want to freshen up the suspension a bit and drive it as is.
thanks!
I think most will say that engine will last virtually forever. In other words, it will be other things that end the life of the car.
Thanks! Good to know. I have three other Z3/Z4s so the coupe will probably only get a few thousand miles a year. the original owner took very good care of it, so just going to address the other age related issues and drive it.
I’m also very interested in this as an owner of a 165k 3.0 roadster. Naturally I want to keep my car forever, “million mile car” whatnot but a friend mentioned that sooner or later something would go and take the car with it. I’m dying to know what that something would possibly be ?

I agree, just make sure the cooling system is maintained.
