It's actually a 1330. So my driveshaft has a 1330 that goes to the factory 4 bolt flange

New motor mounts underway! Also changing up the header design to more of a longtube style. Rear end is getting tubed as well because of an incident from the end of the season.

Using 3D printed header modeling cubes to mock up the pipes, this then can be translated directly to actual pieces. Each bend section is 22.5 degrees and matches up perfectly to the bend radius of the tubing purchased from aceraceparts. I'll post more once the collector is delivered and the rest of the pipe routed. This also gave me a chance to fix my header to steering shaft clearance issue I had.

Just looking at that hurts my soul. Great fab work but that can't be fun to repeatedly test fit.

Yeah this is where the 3D printed parts came in handy because I could easily snap them in and out instead of removing the whole thing, but now I'm at the point where I have to actual remove and install it to make sure it still clears everything. But it's way better than the first version of this exhaust that I have been running the last 2 years so it's worth the time!

Update! I was able to remove the header with the engine still in the car, I just had to support it with a hoise and remove the engine mount and one of the steering rack bolts to swing it out of the way. This makes things waaaaay nicer if I have to remove a manifold for some reason at the track.

Also, I have been using these 3D printed modeling cubes to minimize wasted material and some time. so far so good! I have to fix this last tube by adding one more bend, it doesnt enter the collector straight but it will be an easy fix.

looking good man! I design and 3d print parts so this makes me super happy. I've been printing body panel break away parts. So many uses for printing stuff!

A little more progress, I need to fix a couple gaps but then it's ready to weld up.

I unfortunately am not a professional welder, but these are definitely stuck together haha. This is going to definitely be an improvement for flow and of course sound. Onto the next side for welding

It seems like it didn't move that much from welding, hopefully it still fits around steering shaft or the hammer has to come out. Clears engine mount and as you can see it's crazy how tight the steering shaft is if you can imagine it's spot

Swapping out to metal engine mounts, the poly ones are super close to the headers and I don't want to chance it, even with a heat shield it doesn't make me feel happy with their rated temp of only 180deg.

135 ain't bad for that honestly. They look dinky but I'm sure they'll work.

Had to modify the passenger side header... So I just ended up restarting. I have two pipes tacked, the other two mocked up with 3D print.

I might start selling the 3d printed header legos. Not sure if enough people want it tho. How's it compare to the real thing

You can't sell them , it's patented by iceengineworks

They're pretty dang close . Huge help on this project.

Their parts are also injection molded way stronger than these, these locking tabs tend to break over time due to the 3d print not being as strong

Yea it's patented but there's room for competition. I've seen a few different models on thingiverse you can get but I hear you. And yea, they break after a while so they'd probably be for a hobbyist who just wants to make 1 header and never again lol. 3d printed parts don't have much elasticity. Even the TPU stuff. Although, TPU might be a better choice for this.

Yeah Tpu would be too flexible, I used Petg for these to help it be a little more flexible, the model itself could use some Improvement. This is the model I found on thingiverse as well, I would probably thicken up some of the portions before I used these again though. For what I needed they worked out perfectly.
