I've got a 2000 540i6 with 138976 miles and I want it gone. It has problems, many, many problems, and I am very tired of dealing with them. It ran fine up until November when one day the alarm went off randomly. The battery is new so I assumed it's probably not the culprit. It didn't occur to me until a few days later when I noticed the windows fogging up, yup it's a rain soaked electrical system. There's wet carpet in the R rear footwell, I checked the corresponding door liner and it's fine. I'm guessing it's a leaking sunroof drain, but now the sunroof itself won't open... yea.
So anyways, enough with the story. As a car it ran fine, I started it today. VANOS is a little noisy as usual. It seems like the clutch TOB occasionally squeaks. It has new Koni adjustables front and rear along with H&R 50464 springs. Wheels now look like garbage, thanks road salt, but they are round. Tires are Continental Extreme Contact DWS, 245/40-18 front, 275/35-18 rear, there's no rubbing and they hold air, good tread too. It brakes and steers well, though there is a bit of bump steer, a result no doubt of the lowering springs. Usual E39 pixels and HVAC button issues of course, quality engineering here.
If you feel like torturing yourself it's yours for $1500 OBO, at this point I just want the driveway space. Thanks.

Damn, I'm sorry to hear that but it's probably best to move on. I'm probably selling the M3 in the spring, just time to move on from that as well. I can give kudos to the seller... this would be a great deal for someone with the patience and extra garage space to sort things out.
