AIM SOLO 2 DL on E36

I recently got a SOLO2 DL for Christmas and found out as I was tyring to set it up that the E36 M3's OBDII connection isn't compatible. From my research it sounds like my only option is to trade the OBDII connector that came with the unit in for the RPM cable, and that things like throttle position just won't happen. Has anyone found anything different? I've seen some discussion about using something like the Race Capture AnalogX to get more data out of an E36 into the DL. Does anyone know more about this or has anyone actually done it?

    Any solution to this?

Any solution to this. I understand a CAN connection should work?

Ya, RPM is it with the proper wire unless you want to upgrade to a higher end AIM system and start adding in external sensors. GPS and RPM is actually quite useful themselves for finding trends in your driving, especially for beginners with data analysis.

I've used GPS speed as a coaching tool, works well enough actually.

Unless you do an S54 swap and run an MSS54 DME you're outta luck.

A good GPS speed (from an AiM, etc) is more accurate than many OEM speedometers...most of the time.
I noticed one glitch recently where AiM showed me going 80mph in a turn I'm normally at 50. Which (with a few other oddities, like out lap, etc) created a 'predicted best' at 2 sec faster than my PB.
I was pretty excited, and confused, for a few minutes.
