Easy Fix for washer like above pump through Hood Grommet

Researching why the Washer Motor worked but no spray. Found that the line between the upper line from the pump through the grommet in the hood to the to the lines to the intact Jet line was just disintegrating. Spliced in rubber black irrigation hose using existing clamps and a few zip ties and two of the largest connectors to maintain the same pressure. Fix Time 30 minutes, troubleshooting and trying not to break anything 30 minutes. Then the moment when I pushed the Grommet through the opening of the hood only to spend another 90 minutes trying to get it back out and then back in properly without damaging it!

New center link, idler arm and tie rod ends, new motor and trans mounts, and a new set of camber plates (Ground Control E39 M5 plates) over the last 2 weekends. Car goes in for alignment tomorrow morning.

Just did this past Saturday the transmission service with the Filtran filter. Oil that came out was dark brown, not burnt but definitely showing its age. Only about 3.75 quarts came out so it was low and it took about 5 and a half to fill it up. Getting the pieces of old gasket of the trans body was a pain! Took advantage and also change the transmission mounts. One was already on 2 pieces and the other was starting to de-laminate but both were very compressed. Tran

Figured out why my trunk would only open with the Key.

Thought it had something to do with the actuator not unlocking

What it really was is the alignment of the locking mechanism and the trunk lid. Used my phone and videoed the trunk locking and unlocking discovered that the cam on the Trunk lid power lock drive (67338352202) was not engaging the lock.

Drove me nuts for several weeks until I thought, "Hey dummy put a camera in there and see what is going on."

Once I had that figured out it was just loosening the screws on the Trunk Lid Power Lock Drive and sliding it over about 3/16" so the Cam on the drive would engage the latch release. Also making sure the lid was adjusted "just right" After about a bazillion small adjustments it worked. Trunk lid is off by about 1/8" lateral and vertical from one side to another but seals. (it was that way before I started, so I don't know if the car previously had a fender bender or what) I'll take it and work on that another day. I did fiddle with the bump stops but that only messed up the alignment even more.

Also If I ever get locked up in the trunk of a 740 I'll know to just manually turn that cam or rip out the liner and grab the rod from the lock to the catch.

    Next.....!!

Excellent out of the box thinking with the camera action!... I would have shut myself in the trunk with a flashlight,
    never to be seen again....

Replaced the Underhood and the Internal recirculating Air filters on my '96 E36 740iL. The Passenger side took longer due to the learning curve than the driver's side was pretty quick but couldn't get the panel screw in the middle so... that was a bit frustrating! Man, they were full of gunk! Ewwww!!!

Now That I've successfully practiced Yoga in my E38 and My Chiropractor will say that I'm not supposed to bend that way as he puts all my ribs and vertebrae back into alignment LOL

I swapped The thermostat, fan and fan clutch, vent hose from the water pump, egr air pump hoses and bled the coolant.

It was a job well done and wasn't too bad, except for a wrong cover for the engine below the intake pipes, causing me to have the "Wong" vent pipe.

Did my rear brakes (rotors and pads) and realized why I had difficulty putting on the winter shoes. Apparently I have 15mm spacers all around. Ummm... what?

They are perfect for the M62. I recommended them to Roger after a buddy of mine put them on his N62 545 when converting it to true duals. You won't be disappointed...
